01

The challenge

Sharing platforms tend to feel either transactional or preachy. We wanted a service that felt as easy as borrowing sugar from a neighbour.

02

Research & insights

We ran co-creation workshops with 22 residents across two neighbourhoods and mapped the emotional labour of asking and giving. Trust was the currency; the interface just had to protect it.

03

Design process

  1. 1

    Co-creation workshops

  2. 2

    Service blueprint and stakeholder mapping

  3. 3

Two rounds of low-fi and hi-fi prototyping

  4. 4

    Brand voice and micro-copy sprints

  5. 5

    Pilot with a housing cooperative

04

Final outcome

A calm, generous app that turns lending into a two-tap gesture and celebrates the small acts of reuse without moralising about them.

05

Key learnings

  • Sustainability lands better as delight than duty.
  • Trust is designed, not declared.
  • Micro-copy is the quiet backbone of a service.
